DPM Research presents at the 39th Annual EAIR Forum 2017 in Porto, Portugal
Higher education institutions constantly require more and better information for decision-making related to strategic planning, quality management, and performance assessment. The development level of information management in Chile’s higher education sector was assessed empirically using a mixed-methods approach. We assigned a level of development to each institution and identified the facilitating factors of development and its potential barriers. Based on the findings, we recommended that institutional and governmental actors collaborate to support the continued development of institutional research (IR), the adoption of institutional policies to facilitate the IR function, the introduction of data socialisation activities, and the acquisition of IR-related competencies.
